Meet Our Team
Dr. Federici is a board certified family physician, and also one of the few physicians board certified in breastfeeding and lactation medicine. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and founded Family First Physicians in 2006 where her focus is primary care and wellness for women and children, including nutrition, and breastfeeding medicine.
“My mission, both as a physician and as a mother myself, extends beyond the health of my patients; it involves empowering mothers to trust their maternal instincts, achieve their breastfeeding goals, and be who they want to be as mothers and as women. I am building a movement of mothers who feel capable and confident, because every parent deserves to have a doctor in their corner, not telling them what to do, but instead mentoring them to trust their own instincts in parenting and in health.”

Dr. Federici is also TEDx speaker, and her talk "How Breastfeeding Education is Failing Us" has more than100K view on YouTube! After serving as medical director of Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital Breastfeeding Center for many years, she now serves on the DeKalb County Board of Health.
An award-winning physician, Dr. Federici, is the recipient of Kishwaukee Hospital’s Outstanding Service to Patients Award, and the Chicago Area Breastfeeding Coalition's Breastfeeding Friendly Physician Award, and she has been voted Best Physician by the Daily Chronicle Readers' Choice Awards numerous times.
Dr. Federici is the proud mother of four adult children, Kayla, AJ, Grace, and Tessa, and loves travel, running, Peloton classes, and cooking.

Krissy is our Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years experience in maternal-child health. She is an award-winning nurse and a Certified Lactation Counselor. Krissy lives in Sandwich, IL with her family, and enjoys volunteering in her community.
